Helping Hands Bags
A unique Partnership benefiting many
In February of 2016 Living Loud launched our Helping Hands Program.
We reached out to two organizations that we felt could mutually benefit each other, Aspiro and St. Vincent Children's Hospital. Clients of Aspiro, Inc. Day Services Program began to assemble bags with items supplied by Living Loud through donations and funds raised.
Students in a special education program at Menominee High School tied fleece blankets to be given with the bags.
The young adults from Aspiro then delivered the bags to St. Vincent Children's Hospital where they are given out to families who have unexpected or emergency stays at the hospital. There are separate bags made for parents and children of all ages.
We are extremely excited about the direction our Helping Hands program is moving.
In 2018, In partnership with Milwaukee Center for Independence, we expanded our Helping Hands Program to the Milwaukee area. Clients at MCFI assemble bags and deliver and distribute them to Repairers of the Breach Shelter.
In 2019 we helped students at Syble Hopp School by funding shopping excursions so that they are able to assemble and deliver "move out" baskets to young mothers at House of Hope Shelter.
Currently, 2022, we are working with Syble Hopp and The Hope Center, a licensed shelter care facility for 0-17 year olds managed by House of Hope.
A program with Easter Seals will be starting in Summer 2022 and we are very excited to get this off the ground! Clients will be assembling and delivering Helping Hands bags to children in the Foster Care system throughout Wisconsin.
